Can I mix creatine with a hydration powder?
Mixing creatine monohydrate into a hydration or electrolyte drink is safe and, for most people, convenient. Nothing in a standard electrolyte blend breaks creatine down over the few minutes it sits in your bottle.
Why they pair well
Creatine works partly by drawing water into muscle cells. Taking it with sodium, potassium and magnesium supports that fluid balance rather than fighting it.
It also removes a step: one bottle instead of two, which makes it far more likely you actually take creatine every day. Consistency is what makes creatine work.
How to mix it
Use about 3–5 g of creatine monohydrate per day with 300–500 ml of water and your usual electrolyte serving.
Stir or shake and drink it within the hour. Creatine slowly converts in water over long periods, so a bottle that has sat out all day is weaker.
Timing barely matters. Daily consistency matters much more than before or after training.
What to avoid
Do not mix it into something very hot — heat plus time speeds up the breakdown.
Loading is optional. Some people take about 20 g a day (split into four servings) for 5–7 days to saturate muscles faster, as our Creatine Monohydrate label describes; a steady 3–5 g daily dose reaches the same saturation in about 3–4 weeks.
